A strange mother and daughter duo pulled over at a Sheetz gas station in Pennsylvania. They had a disturbing way of passing the time while they pumped gas, and without concern for anyone in sight, they went about their dirty business. Someone happened to see the two and immediately did something about what they witnessed, and one bad scene led to an even sicker reality.

Courtney Jording, 23, pulled into the Greensburg gas station with her 43-year-old mother, Karen Gillespie, just after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. After sticking the fuel nozzle into the gas tank, Jording got back in the car and shoved a needle full of heroin into her mother’s arm.

A separate woman at the pumps saw the alarming behavior and was even more taken aback when she noticed that there appeared to be a baby in the back seat. As chance would have it, the witness was also a Child and Youth Services worker, and he immediately called the police to the scene. But things were about to take a turn for the worst when officers got a closer look inside the car.

Barely sitting in a child seat in the back of the car, police found a dirty little girl in a urine-soaked diaper. She was thought to be about six months old and belonging to Jording. Her car seat was merely placed in the back, not secured down with even a single strap. The child’s safety in a moving vehicle was the least of these women’s concern, as they were completely comfortable injecting each other with the strong drug just inches from the baby, before driving away while completely drugged up. Luckily, they didn’t get too far this time.

Officers found a massive treasure trove of narcotics, including a staggering 41 bags of heroin and 16 empty bags the mother and daughter had probably already used up between the two of them. Next to the drugs was everything a degenerate would need to use them, such as four syringes and two spoons, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Jording and Gillespie were taken into custody on multiple drug counts, as well as criminal conspiracy and endangering the welfare of a child. Druggy mommy dearest has been hit with additional offenses that her daughter didn’t get, including extra possession offenses with the intent to manufacture or deliver.

The baby was taken into custody and placed with her paternal grandparents, who hopefully have more sense about them than her depraved maternal grandmother. This child likely faces a future of being bounced around between homes of whoever can care for her at the moment, with a selfish mom who will fight to get custody when she’s not incarcerated.

ording doesn’t want to be a parent, but like most people in her position, she will always fight for that right at the cost of her child’s well-being. Meanwhile, protective services honor this bad behavior by giving the child back. It’s a sick cycle of abuse, catering to those who should lose all parental rights permanently after the first offense of their child being found in harm’s way, placed there by the person they should be able to trust the most.
